Extensible 2K Grommets for Easy Assembly
To facilitate wiring assembly in vehicles, Hutchinson has developed an innovative extensible 2K grommet. This cutting-edge solution transforms wiring automation by allowing wire assembly in a single step, through the expansion of rigid elements.
Cable harness components, such as connectors and clips easily pass through the grommets. The rigid areas expand and then return to their original shape, ensuring unmatched efficiency and flexibility. The combination of flexible elements and chemically bonded hard materials developed by Hutchinson offers exceptional robustness and durability.
These extensible grommets simplify the cable assembly process, offering optimal adaptability of components.
Eco2 Design and Sustainability objectives
Committed to sustainability, Hutchinson created the label resolutions® to promote the environmental performance of the Group’s solutions, i.e. products that meet strict criteria related to environmental performance, including CO₂ reduction, weight reduction, or products containing a significant proportion of recycled or bio-based materials. Hutchinson modular grommets concept has been awarded with the resolutions® label thanks to an eco2 design, a reduction of 42% of CO2 emissions and reduced weight of 28% in comparison with conventional materials.
