KEOLIS WINS A BUS CONTRACT IN GREATER STOCKHOLM

Keolis has been awarded a new contract by the Stockholm regional transport authority, Trafikförvaltningen (SL), to operate and maintain a network of urban and suburban buses serving the municipalities of Bromma, Solna, Sundbyberg and Sollentuna, north and west of Stockholm.

A bus fleet 100% powered by alternative energy
The bus network serves 476,000 inhabitants every day, using standard and articulated vehicles, and consists of 54 routes that run solely on alternative energy. Most of the vehicles run on electricity, with electric buses accounting for 80% of the kilometres covered, but the fleet also includes buses that use biodiesel (HVO). The network's depots will be adapted and equipped with charging and maintenance facilities in time for the start of the contract.

The entire fleet covers 11.5 million km every year, connecting four municipalities in the Stockholm suburbs: Bromma, Solna, Sundbyberg and Sollentuna. The network has nearly 1,400 stops and carries approximately 28.5 million passengers per year.

In June 2022, Keolis started two major contracts to operate and maintain the bus network in the county of Uppsala (biogas and biodiesel), 70 km north of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg (100% electric), Sweden's second-largest city.

Additionally, in August 2023, Keolis' Swedish subsidiary will begin its first multimodal contract in the country, operating and maintaining the all-electric tram and bus networks of Lund.
