FEV PRESENTS FUTURE H2-MOBILITY SOLUTIONS DURING HYVOLUTION EXHIBITION AT PARIS EVENT CENTER PORTE DE LA VILLETTE

FEV France, member of France Hydrogène, participates in the HyVolution exhibition, the most important hydrogen event in France. FEV, one of the globally leading engineering providers, will showcase its solutions at Booth E15 on 27-28 October.

FEV PRESENTS FUTURE H2-MOBILITY SOLUTIONS DURING HYVOLUTION EXHIBITION AT PARIS EVENT CENTER PORTE DE LA VILLETTE

At HyVolution, 200 key players in the hydrogen sector are covering a broad value chain to address all energy, industry and mobility related challenges, including production, distribution, storage, services and solutions for CO2-neutral hydrogen markets.

FEV is a leader in fuel cell and hydrogen engine technologies development. The company’s solutions have already been successfully applied to the automotive, bus, truck, off-road, marine, rail and aeronautical markets. FEV is involved in the entire process, from the definition of the concept, through integration in the vehicle, to production. This includes:

  • Benchmarking
  • Simulation
  • Design
  • Safety systems
  • Software development
  • Calibration, testing and certification

At HyVolution, FEV will showcase two examples of the company’s hydrogen solutions.

BREEZE
FEV developed a fuel cell range extender and integrated it into an electric subcompact vehicle, a Fiat 500, despite its limited available space for the installation of the system. The development was supported by the German region of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Union.

Benchmarking
FEV’s benchmarking experts carried out a study analyzing each component, system, and sub-system of the Toyota Mirai to provide in-depth knowledge on the vehicle’s solutions, how and why the work. To understand its operation even better, test campaigns on each component have been conducted, too. At FEV’s booth, a so called exploded view of the fuel system is on display.

GCK and FEV partnership: En route to the Dakar Rally
FEV supports French Green Corp Konnection (GCK) to design, develop and integrate its own high-power fuel cell system, whose capacity will be demonstrated in motorsport before being deployed in other industrial applications. This announcement confirms the determination of both partners to become major players in the transition to zero-emission mobility.

On March 25, 2021, the two companies signed an agreement to develop an on-board fuel cell system with a capacity of 200 kW, one of the most powerful units on the market. The development of this fuel cell system will initially accompany the breakthrough project launched in January during the Dakar Rally by GCK Motorsport, GCK's sports and media flagship. This project will become the first to present a hydrogen-powered vehicle in demonstration mode in January 2022 before entering the competition in 2024. With this step, the team led by Guerlain Chicherit supports the organizer of the Dakar Rally, ASO, in its commitment to promote an environmentally sustainable event.

FEV France investments thanks to France Relance Plan
Within the framework of the France Relance recovery plan, FEV France has recently invested in a test bench dedicated to fuel cell system tests that can reach up to 200 kW. Also, at its Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray (Seine Maritime) site, the company has modified two engine test benches to make them compatible with testing of thermal engines using hydrogen as a fuel. FEV France is one of the winners in the automotive sector selected as part of this project initiated by the French government. The project’s objective is to support the investments of leading companies with dedicated funds, in order to accelerate the modernization of the automotive and aeronautics industries and preserve know-how and skills around ecology, competitiveness and cohesion.
