Global automaker relies on KUKA's technology knowhow: Major order in body-in-white construction
In the future, KUKA will be responsible for joining the body components of a premium SUV using a patented process.
With this major order in the mid double-digit million euro range, KUKA’s technology know-how is supporting today’s global automotive industry.
In the first quarter of 2021, KUKA received an order from a global automaker for the engineering and construction as well as the assembly and commissioning of the "Net Form and Pierce" joining and pierce riveting technology for vehicle production.
Perfect fit and finish of the car body
KUKA's patented "Net Form and Pierce" method, or also known as the "BestFit" process, is a highly precise and efficient method for accurately identifying and positioning mounting features on the body's exterior trim.
"Our unique method not only allows for a customized trim of the vehicle, but also for an economically profitable production. We are proud of the long-standing trust in our technology expertise," said Mike LaRose, President and COO of the KUKA Automotive Group Americas.
