Participating Companies and Operational Challenges
The commercial vehicle sector is experiencing an increase in technical vehicle complexity, which complicates fault analysis and maintenance. To overcome these infrastructural challenges, the participating companies are pooling their domain-specific capacities. Knorr-Bremse provides the hardware and system components, while Cojali supplies cross-brand diagnostic technology. Furthermore, the integration of systems from TRAVIS, PleaseFix, and WESP CV enables a functional connection to fleet management and workshop capacity planning. This cooperation was necessary to consolidate isolated data points into a continuous digital infrastructure.
Technical Solution and Responsibilities
The developed CVS Service Platform acts as a central interface for data and process management. The booking architecture from TRAVIS handles the central billing and scheduling of services, while PleaseFix expands this function with algorithmic appointment scheduling and capacity control for workshops. Additionally, WESP CV integrates a data-based analysis application that evaluates key performance indicators and enables benchmarking processes. The diagnostic interface is mapped by Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics in conjunction with Jaltest Diagnostics from Cojali. This system continuously supplies wheel speed data and system parameters, and fulfills software update requirements in accordance with the UNECE R155 and R156 standards through the cloud-based Software Update Management System (SUMS).
Implementation and System Integration
The platform solutions are being implemented decentrally within the existing IT structures of the partner workshops in the TruckServices Expert Network, which comprises over 1,100 businesses. The cloud architecture automatically transmits configuration and diagnostic data to the server structure, eliminating the need for manual data entry into manufacturer systems.
System integration is supported by technical documentation and training programs from the TruckServices Academy. Further functional implementations include the Online Configuration Tool (OCT) for automating diagnostic processes. The systems will be presented at the Automechanika trade fair (September 8 to 12, 2026, in Frankfurt am Main, Hall 3.0, Booths E91 and G98).
Areas of Application and Technical Use Cases
Target applications include the maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles, buses, and trailers. A specific technical use case is predictive maintenance using Jaltest Telematics, which evaluates operating data to identify wear limits at an early stage. For trailer applications, the system integrates data from the iTEBS X electronic braking system and the NexTT SyT7 pneumatic disc brake. Operational results include a measurable reduction in vehicle downtime, optimized utilization of workshop capacities, and more precise fault analysis for mechatronic braking systems.
Results and System Impacts
By integrating the platform solutions, administrative processes are quantifiably reduced. The integrated booking system recorded a volume of over one million transactions in the previous recording period.
At the hardware level, active pad detachment by the Active Caliper Release System (ACR) and the Active Pad Release System (APR) for bus applications lowers the residual drag torque. This leads to a proportional reduction in energy consumption and mechanical wear. Furthermore, the overhaul of electronic control units as part of the ESB REMAN program using standardized test benches extends the component life cycle.
