Thermal management components expand aftermarket coverage

DENSO has expanded its aftermarket portfolio in thermal management, covering a broad range of vehicle applications. The new components are linked to 174 OE references and address around 1,900 vehicle types. In addition to high-volume models, the range also targets electrified applications, with an estimated market potential of approximately 4.6 million vehicles in the DACH region.

Growing importance of thermal management in the aftermarket
As modern powertrains become more complex, thermal management plays a critical role in energy efficiency, emissions, and system stability. DENSO transfers its OE expertise in air conditioning and engine cooling to the aftermarket, providing components aligned with current technical requirements.

Expansion of the radiator portfolio
A key focus of the portfolio expansion is radiators, with 21 new part numbers introduced. Optimized tube and fin geometries, combined with brazed constructions, enable efficient heat dissipation while reducing installation space requirements.

Technically, cooling surface areas of up to 6 m² can be achieved within a frontal area of approximately 0.2 m². The use of glass fiber-reinforced polyamides enhances mechanical strength and durability. Validation testing under real-world conditions ensures long-term reliability, while internal comparisons indicate differences in thermal performance and lifespan compared to lower-cost aftermarket alternatives.

Condensers with integrated subcooling technology
Another focus area is the expansion of the condenser portfolio. Of the 28 new condensers, 24 are based on DENSO’s subcooling technology with an integrated receiver-drier. In this design, the liquefied refrigerant is further cooled, reducing system pressure and thermal load.

This improves the energy efficiency of air conditioning systems while enabling a more compact design with reduced space and refrigerant requirements. Vehicle-specific configurations support seamless system integration.

Portfolio expansion and vehicle coverage
In the first quarter of 2026, 18 new part numbers were introduced, including compressors and thermostats, covering approximately 800 vehicle applications. In the second quarter, an additional 59 part numbers follow, including radiators, condensers, interior blowers, and cooling fans, covering more than 1,100 additional applications.

The expansion spans a wide range of vehicle models from various manufacturers, including both conventional and electrified platforms.

Integration within the automotive supply chain
The new components are available through DENSO distribution partners and can be integrated into existing maintenance and repair processes. Alignment with OE specifications supports consistent quality within the automotive supply chain and provides workshops with technically matched replacement parts.

Market context
With the expansion of its thermal management portfolio, DENSO addresses increasing aftermarket requirements driven by growing vehicle complexity. The combination of OE-based design, broad vehicle coverage, and integration into service processes supports the ongoing development of the aftermarket sector.
