Busworld Europe 2025 is the world’s largest B2B exhibition targeting the bus and coach industry. This year’s event focuses on sustainable transport and the decarbonization of public transportation. Danfoss will showcase its innovative solutions for electric bus thermal management, including BOCK® compressors designed for use with natural refrigerants.
Supporting the refrigerant transition with transcritical CO2 compressors
The Danfoss booth will feature the BOCK HG and HR series of transcritical CO2 compressors, specifically designed to work with the R744 natural refrigerant, including the BOCK HRX40 CO2 T and the HG24 CO2 T. HG compressors have a compact, lightweight design, which makes them ideal for transport air conditioning systems. They also set benchmarks for low noise and vibration, have a minimal oil carry over rate and a large heating and cooling capacity range.
"With the industry's transition to low-GWP refrigerants, CO2 has emerged as an energy-efficient natural refrigerant ideally suited for air conditioning and heating in mobile applications. BOCK has over 25 years of experience in working with CO2 compressor technology, and we look forward to presenting our wide range of compressors to Busworld attendees," said Ralf Havermann, Head of Danfoss BOCK Compressors.
The new compressor combines safety and sustainability
Busworld will also provide a launchpad for Danfoss’ newest compressor, the HGZ44, a two-in-one solution that works across a wide range of natural refrigerants. Specifically developed for truck refrigeration applications, the HGZ44 features aluminum housing, for a lightweight design, and supports A2L and HC refrigerants. The compressor is validated for transport and is expected to achieve UL certification by mid-2026.
Accelerating the electrification of transportation
In addition to providing energy-efficient compressors for mobile heating and cooling systems, Danfoss also offers line components, such as thermostatic and electric expansion valves, solenoid valves, hermetic filter driers and brazed plate heat exchangers that meet the needs of the bus industry. Busworld participants can see the full range of components available at the Danfoss booth, as well as learn how the company can support OEMs on their electrification journey.
