Sports car manufacturer Lotus is automating its body painting facility at its British headquarters in Hethel. Lotus contracted Dürr to install an automated paint shop boasting a number of extremely efficient processes.

The first AGV for paint shops, EcoProFleet from Dürr, has been awarded the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" prize. The highest award of the internationally renowned design prize is given to products with pioneering design.
Dürr is reinforcing its market position in the field of digital products: The mechanical and plant engineering firm acquired a majority of Techno-Step GmbH effective March 9, 2020. Techno-Step is specialized in developing and commissioning systems for process data analysis and diagnosis. The takeover will enable Dürr to intensify its strategy to develop software solutions based on data analyses. Customers can use these to enhance the availability of their plant equipment and the efficiency of their production processes.
The automotive industry is investing large sums in electromobility. In doing so, it is focusing not only on developing battery-powered cars but also on equipping its plants with modern production technology. This provides an opportunity for the Dürr Group: In 2019, incoming orders relating to e-mobility production technology increased by 44% to € 390 million. Aside from well-established OEMs, customers also include many new manufacturers of battery vehicles.
