Maximum precision paired with outstanding energy efficiency: The EcoPaintJet Pro can paint complex car body surfaces without overspray and apply individual design elements without masking, fully automatically and in a resource-saving manner. These features convinced an independent panel of judges to award Dürr the Automotive News PACE Award for its innovative overspray-free application technology solution.

Climate neutrality, increased CO2 prices, and uncertainties with the natural gas supply are prompting car manufacturers to intensify their search for alternatives to gas-powered production plants. In response, Dürr became the first supplier to electrify all the body ovens in its portfolio.

Upstream sealing stations in the car manufacturing painting process are already highly automated. However, sealing is still performed manually for hard-to-reach car body parts. Dürr recently developed a solution to further increase the level of automation and significantly reduce the need for manual intervention.

Dürr Assembly Products has successfully launched and commissioned its innovative x-road curve multi-function test stand for autonomous and partially autonomous vehicles in Korea.

Painting car roofs a contrasting color with the EcoPaintJet was the first series application of the overspray-free painting process in the automotive industry. With the enhanced EcoPaintJet Pro version, the robot system can now paint and apply custom design elements to extremely complex body surfaces such as vertical or A and C pillars, fully automatically and without masking.

Private research institute Rescoll in France offers tests with Dürr's EcoPaintJet. Big things start small: since late summer 2021, end customers have been able to test paints, substrates and the corresponding application for a low cost at the French research company Rescoll for compatibility with Dürr's EcoPaintJet in order to prepare optimally for series production.

The newest atomizer generation from Dürr can make a real contribution to improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in the paint shop. The EcoBell4 performs color changes faster than any other high-speed rotary atomizer, reduces paint and solvent consumption as well as VOC emissions, and features RFID technology for predictive maintenance.

The EcoProBooth opens up new perspectives in spray booth technology for car manufacturers. With its modular box concept, independent lines and the combination of interior and exterior painting in a single box, it provides a degree of scalability and flexibility previously only possible for small-scale series.

Four days, different time zones and languages. At its 12th open house, Dürr presented new products to increase efficiency and profitability in manufacturing and reduce resources for large volume manufacturers and small electric car startups alike.

In the eastern Chinese province of Shandong, Dürr is currently building two paint shops for Sinotruk, the leading manufacturer of heavy trucks for the world’s largest commercial vehicle market, China. The paint shops equipped with state-of-the-art technology will be used to coat truck cabs and pick-ups of Sinotruk’s premium brands, with the focus squarely on high quality, responsible use of resources and cost efficiency.
