Technology company Continental will supply a major OEM with two services from its eHorizon platform, equipping several million cars over the coming years. The first service, “Maps on Demand” (MoD), will already be implemented in 2022, while the second service, “Intelligent Speed Assistant” (ISA), will follow in 2023.

High-performance computer from Continental will first launch in 2023 in electric vehicles from a major Chinese vehicle manufacturer. Development based on global know-how with local R&D in Shanghai and Chongqing, where Continental has recently opened its Software & System Development Center. The hard- and software solution paves the way to cross-domain high-performance computer by integrating functions from different vehicle domains.

Continental supports the global megatrends of Electrification and Automated Driving with the second generation of its electro-hydraulic brake system. MK C2 is more compact, lighter, more economical, and features a multi-logic architecture for an even higher availability and performance level. Owed to its modular and scalable design, MK C2 is ideally suited for integration into complete platforms, turning the system into a “door opener” for Future Brake Systems and Motion Control solutions.

Maserati has opted to use the SportContact 7 – Continental’s most recent premium tire offering – as original equipment on their Levante and Quattroporte vehicles. As the successor to Continental’s well-established SportContact 6, the winner of numerous comparative tests, the new SportContact 7 embodies state-of-the-art tire engineering expertise to the fullest.

Concept vehicle AMBIENC3 points the way to the future – for e-mobility, shared mobility and autonomous driving. Continental develops a groundbreaking technology solution for highly automated driving: an intelligent software that enables complex driving maneuvers autonomously. Continental is presenting an innovative display solution that intelligently supports drivers in keeping an eye on all the important information at all times: the ShyTech display. A large amount of information is processed and displayed in modern, connected and, in the future, increasingly automated vehicles. To visualize this flood of information, increasingly larger screens are being built into cars. However, not every message displayed is relevant in every situation. It can even lead to distraction and endanger driving safety. On the other hand, large displays without content do not contribute to harmonious cockpit design. As an alternative to large visible display designs, Continental has developed the ShyTech Display: a screen that appears only when it is needed as if by magic.

Continental has launched CompactMaster EM, a new telehandler and compact loader tire. Benjamin Hübner, Product Line Manager Agricultural Tires at Continental Commercial Specialty Tires, says: “The CompactMaster EM is specifically designed to help operators handle demanding rough conditions. The tire features new Turtle Shield tread technology and twisted steel cord. The hard shell, and more flexible steel wire construction, helps to prevent cuts and damages whilst offering greater stability.”
