Continental is presenting an innovative display solution that intelligently supports drivers in keeping an eye on all the important information at all times: the ShyTech display. A large amount of information is processed and displayed in modern, connected and, in the future, increasingly automated vehicles. To visualize this flood of information, increasingly larger screens are being built into cars. However, not every message displayed is relevant in every situation. It can even lead to distraction and endanger driving safety. On the other hand, large displays without content do not contribute to harmonious cockpit design. As an alternative to large visible display designs, Continental has developed the ShyTech Display: a screen that appears only when it is needed as if by magic.

Continental supplies tailor-made engine mounts for manufacturers of electric vehicles in Europe, the USA, and China. Continental has launched CompactMaster EM, a new telehandler and compact loader tire. Benjamin Hübner, Product Line Manager Agricultural Tires at Continental Commercial Specialty Tires, says: “The CompactMaster EM is specifically designed to help operators handle demanding rough conditions. The tire features new Turtle Shield tread technology and twisted steel cord. The hard shell, and more flexible steel wire construction, helps to prevent cuts and damages whilst offering greater stability.”

Cabin sensing combines camera data with radar sensors and intelligent algorithms to cover the entire vehicle interior. The miniaturized interior camera can be integrated directly and virtually invisibly into a wide range of displays.

Air suspension system repair with new parts now possible. Continental drives its portfolio expansion for the aftermarket with new products for VW and Audi models.

Spedition Helmö capitalizes on the benefits offered by the tire management system ContiConnect Live and intelligent connectivity with the Mercedes-Benz Truck App Portal for monitoring the trailers in its Mercedes-Benz fleet. ContiConnect Driver App now integrated into the Mercedes-Benz Truck App Portal. Keeping a watchful eye on the fleet – drivers and fleet managers see real-time tire pressure and temperature values for the entire vehicle. Optimized fuel efficiency and CO2 reduction, plus longer tire service life.

Visitors to the ITS World Congress 2021 will experience first-hand how a collision warning system from Continental will act as a digital guardian angel, providing efficient protection for vulnerable road users in the future. The system, which is being further developed in collaboration with technology company Continental, Deutsche Telekom, Vitronic Dr. Ing. Stein Bildverarbeitungs GmbH and the City of Hamburg, warns of collisions in real time using a smartphone. For this, the Continental solution calculates the route over the next five seconds using GPS and speed data from cars and smartphones in a Telekom cloud computer in the immediate vicinity.

Porsche relies on premium tires from Continental as part of the Taycan’s original equipment. Continental’s PremiumContact 6 summer tires, ProContact RX all-season tires, and WinterContact TS 860 S winter tires are approved – all with XL markings for increased load force.

This year’s automechanika will see Continental unveil three new products that expand the automotive supplier’s already broad product range: air suspension dampers, compressors, and coolant thermostats.

Continental is unveiling its innovative Conti GreenConcept tire concept at this year’s IAA MOBILITY. This conceptual study by the premium tire manufacturer leverages both current and emerging technological approaches to the engineering of sustainable tires for passenger cars, as yet another example of Continental’s wide-ranging activities in pursuit of sustainability.
